Transitional Kindergarten

Your child is going to have a wonderful Transitional Kindergarten experience at Aspen Elementary School.  Transitional Kindergarten is a place to grow, explore, discover, laugh, learn, and make new friends!

Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is the first year of a two-year Kindergarten program. Upon completion of TK students promote to Kindergarten at Aspen.

• TK serves as a bridge connecting what students learned in Preschool to what they will master in Kindergarten.

• The focal point of a TK year is social-emotional development.

• Students learn to develop and maintain positive relationships, identify emotions, manage impulses, focus attention, learn to work both independently and cooperatively, learn school routines and expectations, and resolve social conflict.

• TK teachers promote meaningful connections across subject matter and involve students in integrated educational experiences.
