Aspen Elementary Principal Dr. Shane Craven Honored with Autism Society of Ventura County Award

Congratulations to Aspen Elementary School Principal, Dr. Shane Craven for earning the recognition of Educator of the Year, Integrated Setting from the Autism Society of Ventura County! He was publicly honored with this distinction at the 2025 Awesome in Autism Awards ceremony on October 16th for going above and beyond to support and uplift members of the Autism Community.  

Annually, the Autism Society of Ventura County hosts the Awesome in Autism Awards to celebrate community members who embody and put into action their mission: “to create connections, empowering everyone in the Autism Community with the resources needed to live fully.”

Dr. Craven is a leader in implementing meaningful and inclusive school programs through his more than 15 years of experience in education. He is in his fifth year as Principal of Aspen Elementary School. Prior to his role as the Principal of Aspen, Dr. Craven served as the Coordinator of Special Education for the Conejo Valley Unified School District. He also has experience working with students in a variety of academic settings, ranging from a teacher working with students with disabilities to site leadership as a Principal.
